Kiss Me Deadly is both a masterpiece of film noir and one of the most unique films of the 1950s. It’s no wonder director Robert Aldrich chose The Hollywood Athletic club’s distinctive style and rich history as a focal point in his detective thriller.
A pivotal moment comes to play when the films protagonist uncovers an important clue, a key belonging to a member of the Hollywood Athletic Club. In 1999, the film was selected for preservation in the United States Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” and has been believed to have influenced many of the prolific filmmakers of our time.
