The First Emmy Ceremony
Hollywood would not be what it is today if not for award season! The first Emmy Award Ceremony was held at the Hollywood Athletic Club building on January 25th, 1949 and was hosted by Walter O’Keefe. Dubbed the 1st Primetime Emmy Awards, winners included; a television adaptation of “The Necklace” and “Pantomime Quiz” for most popular television program and Louis McManus for his original design of the Emmy!
